COD vs card payment: which is safer for online car accessories?
Two ways to pay
DMR accepts cash on delivery (COD) nationwide and secure card payment online. Both are safe; they just work differently.
Cash on delivery means you pay the courier when the order arrives at your door. You only hand over money once you can see the parcel. If the order is cancelled before dispatch, nothing is charged.
Card payment means you pay online at checkout. Your card details go directly to our payment gateway over an encrypted connection. We never see or store your card number — not even the last four digits in our records.
Which one should you choose?
- Choose COD if you want to inspect the parcel before paying, or you prefer not to use your card online.
- Choose card if you want the order confirmed immediately, or you are ordering from outside a COD courier route.
Refunds work for both
- Card payments are refunded to the original card through the gateway.
- COD orders that need a refund (for example a cancelled order after dispatch) are refunded by manual bank transfer to your account.
Either way, the refund amount matches what you paid, including the delivery fee when the policy says so. See the Returns policy for the full rules.
